Below you will find all the work to be completed throughout this week..

 Beowulf Adventure Narrative

 

This week we are learning about the features of an adventure narrative.

 

Monday- Features of an adventure narrative. - Identify the features in the Beowulf text.

Tuesday - 1. Past tense verbs - change verbs from the present tense to the past tense.

2. Subordinating clauses - use ISAWAWUBUB conjunctions to add a clause to a sentence. Remember these clauses are not sentences on their own. 

Wednesday - Parenthesis - using knowledge from our saga, use parentheses to add information.

Thursday - Expanded noun phrases - add detail to descriptive writing

Friday - Plan your narrative

Monday: What is Volume?

Tuesday: Comparing Volume.

Wednesday: Estimate Volume.

Thursday: Estimate Capacity.

In class on Friday we will be going through the tests the children completed after half term and going through some of the questions they were struggling with. As you do not have access to these papers, at home, we would like you to practice your arithmetic using the paper attached. We will be completing this paper throughout the week in school.

 

Topic

  • Research what life was like for the Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. 
  • Create a poster detailing this information (choose one) 
  • Compare what their lives were like. - Were there any similarities? What were the big differences?

 

 

  • Out of Harold Godwinson, Harald Hardrada and William of Normandy, who should have been King? Why?
  • Create a story board about the Battle of Stamford or the Battle of Hastings. Try and pick 6 key moments in the battle and illustrate what happens. 
  • Research the impact of the Roman/Anglo-Saxon/Viking invasions. Were there any benefits? Was it all bad?
