Through our School Council, pupil consultations and work with all stakeholders we have a clear and well understood set of expectations for behaviour.  We call this 'The SPA Way'-  'how we do things' at Swaffham Primary Academy. It encompasses our daily behaviour and attitudes. 

Good behaviour is at the heart of everything our school does.  We are: Ready, Respectful and Safe.

Our staff prioritise good positive behaviour from when our pupils walk through our gates in the morning until when they leave at the end of the school day and as they interact with others outside of our school.  The expectation at Swaffham C of E Primary Academy is that all pupils should behave well because it is the right thing to do... 'The SPA Way.'  We pride ourselves on ensuring that we have strong procedures and routines in place across our school such as 'SPA Way Walking' so we can be efficient and use our time learning well.  

We celebrate The SPA Way in action through our weekly SPA Way award in our Friday Celebration Worship.  Our Year 6 Prefects also celebrate aspects of The SPA Way that they have seen during the week with their weekly Prefect Award which they present.

We are a Thrive School with 2 Thrive trained staff practitioners.  Our staff have been trained in restorative behaviour approaches and Norfolk Steps.  As part of our whole school curriculum we explicitly teach children about the zones of regulation and regularly refer to these throughout our day.  Our whole school behaviour policy has been put together following work with all stakeholders.  We work very closely with parents and carers- communication between school and families is very important to us.

Our Attendance Ants inspire, motivate and champion our attendance. Each class has their 'Attendance Ant' mascot and at Celebration Assemblies they are all brought to assembly. Someone who has consistently demonstrated the SPA Way will bring the Ant into assembly. The class with the greatest attendance that week will have their Ant crowned and earn their class a certificate.
